No. We do not prescribe medication. We can provide referrals to psychiatric professionals when appropriate or upon request.

Therapy can help with anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, grief, relationship and friendship concerns, cultural issues, boundaries, assertiveness, self-esteem, self-confidence, stress, feelings of inadequacy, and other emotional or behavioral concerns.

If youโ€™re unsure, call us at 954-947-1343 or use our contact form. Weโ€™ll help you determine which type of service may best address your concerns.

Therapy is a health care service provided by appropriately credentialed mental health professionals and can include assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health concerns. Therapy may be eligible for insurance coverage depending on your plan and provider.

Coaching is generally focused on forward-looking growth, goals, mindset, accountability, or personal development. It is not a substitute for psychotherapy or mental health treatment and is generally self-pay.

Appointments & Process

Call us at 954-947-1343 or complete our contact form. Our office will follow up with you regarding availability and next steps.

Yes. Telehealth is available for therapy when clinically appropriate and permitted based on your location and provider.

Looking for in-person therapy? Limited in-person appointments may be available with one of our Registered Mental Health Counselor Interns at our Plantation office, depending on availability. Contact us to ask about current in-person openings.

Your first visit is typically a biopsychosocial intake of approximately 60 minutes. Your provider may review areas such as your medical history, medications, sleep and appetite, mood, coping, previous treatment, relationships, family, culture, spirituality, supports, current concerns, and treatment goals.

The intake is intended to be conversational and collaborative. If additional assessment time is needed, another appointment may be scheduled.

Therapy sessions are typically 50โ€“55 minutes. Frequency is based on clinical needs, treatment goals, progress, provider recommendations, and other relevant considerations. Many clients begin weekly and may move to less frequent sessions as clinically appropriate.

The therapeutic relationship is an important part of treatment. If you have concerns about how therapy is going, we encourage you to discuss them openly with your therapist when appropriate. Differences, discomfort, misunderstandings, or challenges within the therapeutic relationship can sometimes be clinically meaningful and useful to explore as part of therapy.

If, after discussing your concerns and considering your treatment needs, you and your therapist determine that our practice is not the best fit for your care, we can provide referrals to appropriate providers outside of Augustin & Augustin Psychology.

Please note: We do not treat therapist changes within the practice as an on-demand matching or โ€œtry another therapistโ€ service. Clinical appropriateness, continuity of care, provider roles, availability, and your treatment needs are considered when determining next steps.

Insurance & Payment

We currently work with a number of insurance plans. Because participation, benefits, and provider eligibility can change, please contact our office so we can confirm whether your specific plan and requested service are currently eligible.

Contact our office to ask about available self-pay options. When appropriate, we can also provide referrals to other providers.

Please contact us for current rates. Fees vary depending on the service, provider, insurance coverage, and type of assessment or treatment needed.

We do not currently offer a traditional sliding scale. Reduced-fee therapy sessions may be available with our supervised Registered Mental Health Counselor Interns. Contact our office for current availability and details.

We accept major credit cards and eligible HSA/FSA cards. Coverage and card acceptance can depend on your issuer and the services provided. If an HSA/FSA transaction is declined, contact your card issuer for assistance.
